Mercer Engineering’s Fabrication Lab (Fab Lab) is open 24/7 and provides a space where students can explore research opportunities, collaborate with fellow students, complete assignments, and more.
Biomedical Engineering
Gait Analysis Lab
EGC 102
Gait analysis is the systematic study and assessment of human locomotion, specifically focusing on the way an individual walks or runs. In biomechanical engineering, this analysis is used to evaluate and understand the mechanics, kinetics, and kinematics of gait, as well as to identify any abnormalities or inefficiencies in an individual's movement patterns.
Prosthetic Shop
EGC 117B
Since the program began, Mercer faculty and students have fitted over 10,000 prosthetic legs for amputees in Vietnam. Recently, they have developed a prosthetic hand and have fit 247 hands since 2018.
Bioinstrumentation Lab/Microprocessor Applications Lab
EGC 202
Students in EGR BME 302 use this room for a lab in addition thier class. It is built like a circuits lab but it is only open to people in the BME dicipline.
